Do CPO cars hold their value better than non-CPO?
Trying to decide if the CPO premium is worth it long-term. Does the CPO designation actually impact resale value when I sell in 4-5 years, or does the premium evaporate by then?

The CPO premium mostly evaporates by the time YOU sell - by then it's just a well-maintained used car with service records (which you should keep). However, CPO cars tend to have been better maintained from the start (dealers put more reconditioning into CPO cars, and previous owners knew they'd have to pass inspection). That baseline of condition CAN translate to better resale, but not because of the CPO label itself. Buy CPO for the warranty and inspection peace of mind, not for resale.
One exception: if the CPO warranty is transferable (many are), having remaining warranty when you sell IS a genuine value-add that buyers will pay for. Check if your program's warranty transfers to subsequent owners.
