Is CPO worth the extra cost compared to regular used?
Comparing 2022 Honda Accord CPO at $26,000 vs similar non-CPO at $23,500 from independent dealer. CPO has extended warranty (7yr/100K powertrain) and 182-point inspection. Is the $2,500 premium actually worth it?

For Honda, CPO premium is usually worth it. The 7yr/100K powertrain warranty alone is worth $1,500-2,000 if bought separately. The inspection catches issues that'd be your problem on non-CPO. That said, $2,500 is negotiable - dealers have margin on CPO too. Try splitting the difference at $24,500-25,000. Also, CPO financing rates are often better than used rates, so factor that into total cost.
Depends how long you'll keep it. Keeping 7+ years - extended warranty has real value. Trading in 3-4 years - paying for warranty you'll barely use. Not all CPO programs are equal. Honda and Toyota programs are excellent. Some other brands are basically a fancy detail and checklist.
