Anyone had a good run with the 10-day inspection period on a ute from Heavy Thing?
G'day mates, I'm eyeing off a few dual-cab utes on heavything.com, particularly a decent-looking Toyota Hilux that's showing up in the $35K range. It's coming out of Brisbane, but I'm down in regional NSW, so I'd be relying on their interstate transport. I'm a bit hesitant about buying a vehicle sight-unseen, even with their multi-point inspection report.
My main worry is what happens if the inspection report isn't quite on the money when it gets here. They tout this 10-day inspection period, which sounds good on paper, but has anyone actually gone through with it? Like, if I get this Hilux, and it turns out the 'minor scuff' they mentioned is actually a decent panel ding, or the interior isn't as 'clean' as described, how smooth is the process for getting things sorted or even a refund? Just want to know if it's a fair dinkum guarantee or if it's a bloody hassle.
I've bought from other auctions before, and while I've usually been lucky, I've heard some horror stories. With this being a repossessed vehicle, I'm wondering if there's any extra risk with the condition not being fully transparent.
